JUNE "prayer-starters" DAY 23

DAY 23 —The resource we have for Loving others is in God’s Love manifest in Christ Jesus.

This hymn by Annie Johnson Flynt, expresses it well: “His Love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.”

I John 4:9-11—In this was manifested the Love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is Love, not that we Loved God, but that He Loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (full satisfaction of the penalty paid) for our sins. Beloved, if God so Loved us, we ought also to Love one another. NIrV—How did God show his Love for us? He sent his one and only Son into the world. He sent him so we could receive life through him. What is Love? It is not that we Loved God. It is that he Loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins. Dear friends, since God Loved us that much, we should also Love one another.
John 15:12 This is My Commandment, That ye Love one another, as I have Loved you. Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. NIrV—Here is my command. Love each other, just as I have Loved you. No one has greater Love than the one who gives his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

HEAVENLY FATHER, there is no doubt what Jesus meant when He said we are to Love one another. Although the love of all of us has been damaged I see there is no release from Your commission to love. Even though our hurts have crowded in upon us, let Your mercy restore us. Cleanse us and set us free to walk in love. Please help us lay our different ideas and beliefs aside and just let your Love rule. And please, show the way of love to these others I hold before You. Heal them to love.

If we guard His Word, His love will be perfected in us—I John 2:3-5
